It is fatal if not treated. The treatment is usually high doses of steroids Cytoxin (chemotherapy) treatment for one year, then remove the cytoxin when things calm down, and the reduction of steroids. Wegener, and I was diagnosed in 2004, and only through a kidney transplant. The incidence of Wegener's quite common for a rare disease in our region (Great Lakes), and if you can create a nephrologist, two cases per year to be seen. If you are a nephrologist in Phoenix, you can even see in a career. Nobody has examined what is so common in our region. Nobody said anything, which explains why this is happening, or causes of disease that is the problem with a rare disease, almost no research on it .... Look for Wegener's disease at the site of the Cleveland Clinic, have good information, such as John Hopkins, too.
